Canadian Association of Black Insurance Professionals Announces New Partnership with Swiss Re Canada

The Canadian Association of Black Insurance Professionals (CABIP) is proud to announce its partnership with Swiss Re Canada. The Swiss Re Group is one of the world’s leading providers of reinsurance, insurance and other forms of insurance-based risk transfer, working to make the world more resilient.

Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, where it was founded in 1863, Swiss Re operates through a network of around 80 offices globally.

“We’re proud to be a partner of CABIP. Their mission aligns with our values, and we are happy to be part of an organization dedicated to bridging the opportunity gap for Black professionals within the Canadian insurance industry”, says Jolee Crosby, CEO Reinsurance Canada and English Caribbean.

“Diversity of thought is a critical business imperative given the risks we manage. Advancing DEI and fostering an inclusive culture is an important part of this work. Partnering with CABIP aligns with our commitment to provide equitable opportunities for all, and in turn create a stronger, more resilient Canadian insurance industry”, says James Gasco, Head Canada, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

“CABIP is thrilled to be partnering with Swiss Re, a global brand in the reinsurance space. This is a big step in bringing awareness to career opportunities, specifically, within the industry that Black insurance professionals may not have previously had on their radar. In reviewing Swiss Re’s “Leading with Inclusion: Our 2023 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion” report, I was pleased to see the following excerpt, “Unlocking the value of our diversity means, among other things, having honest conversations with one another and building a culture that empowers every one of us to deliver innovative, sustainable business success. It also means holding ourselves to our DEI commitments”. Honest conversations, empowerment, accountability… this is what we encourage organizations to consider and embrace. Welcome aboard, Swiss Re.”, said Dionne Bowers, CABIP Co-Founder, Chair-Elect.
